Confident, expressive, movement.
Exceptional technique.
And a safe space to explore and grow.

We host classes for aspiring and seasoned dancers to go further and find each other, through the art of jazz dance.

What is jazz dance?

What isn’t jazz dance? A combination of classical ballet and modern dance, with roots in African dance, swing, and tap, the form has spread far and wide throughout our culture.

Chances are you’ve seen it at some point. Ever watch Cabaret or All That Jazz by Bob Fosse? West Side Story by Jerome Robbins? What about a Michael Jackson concert, or Beyoncé music video? Jazz dance styles range from Broadway, contemporary, and Afro-jazz to lyrical and Latin. It’s been fused with hip-hop and urban styles… and it doesn’t stop there.

Jazz has evolved and is continuously evolving, has many influences and has influenced many. Remaining constant are the power, technique, and flow of the performer, captivating the audience from beginning to end.

Come try it for yourself!

J•A•M Dance Day

Every year, in the spirit of community and jazz, we host the J•A•M Dance Day - an all-you-can-dance day packed with open classes, all for just $20!

J•A•M is a wonderful environment for adult learners — both new dancers and those who have some experience. The instructors create a safe place for us to learn and to push ourselves further in our dance journey. Absolutely recommended if you want to learn dance, have fun and meet like-minded friends!

J•A•M classes have improved my jazz techniques a lot. I feel that I’m now able to execute choreography more easily when I go for open classes or when I have dance performances. Through classes at J•A•M, I’ve also gained lots of friendship with people who have the same passion as I do.
